Halwa Puri Breakfast

Ingredients(SujiKaHalwa):

Desi Ghee                               1 Cup

Cardamom (Broken)               4-5

Semolina (Suji)                       1 Cup

Water                                      2 Cup

Sugar                                       1 Cup

Gold Color                              1/8  Tsp

Crushed Almonds                   1 Tbsp

Crushed Pistachios                 1 Tbsp

Method (SujiKaHalwa):

-Heat Ghee in a pan. Adda Cardamom and Saute for one minute on medium flame.

– Add Sujinad cook on medium-low flame until the suji turns brown.

– Add water and stir cook until water dries.

– Add sugar and mix well while cooking on low flame.

– Make gold (zardayka rang) solution and add in suji.

– Add Almonds and Pistachios. Mix and simmer for 3-4 minutes on low flame.

– Take out in the bowl to Serve.

Ingredients(Aloo Ki Tarkari):

Potatoes (Boiled)                    ½ Kg

Oil                                           100 ml

Cumin seeds                            1 Tsp

Black Seeds                            1 Tsp

Fenugreek Seeds                     1 Tsp

Curry Leaves                          5-7

Red Pepper (Whole)               5-6

Salt                                          1 Tsp

Red Chilli (Flakes)                 1 Tsp

Turmeric Powder                    ¼ Tsp

Red Chilli (Powder)               1 Tsp

Ginger- Garlic Paste               1 Tsp

Tamarind Pulp                                    3 Tbsp

Coriander leaves

Green Chillies

Method (Aloo Ki Tarkari)

– Boil potatoes, peel off and slightly mash wit hands.

– Heat oil in pan. Add Cumin seeds, Black Seeds, Fenugreek Seeds, Curry Leaves and Red Pepper (Whole). Slightly cook while stirring.

– Add potatoes, Salt, Red Chilli (Flakes), Turmeric Powder, Red Chilli (Powder) and Ginger- Garlic Paste. Mix all.

– Add tamarind pulp and 500 ml of water.

– Cover the lid and simmer for 10 minutes on medium-low flame.

– Add fresh coriander leaves and green chillies

– Take out in the bowl to serve

Ingredients (Chana Salan):

Chickpeas (Boiled)     350 gms

Egg (Boiled)               1

Oil                               ¼ cup

Onion (chopped)         1

Tomato                        2 (medium)

Ginger-Garlic Paste    ½ Tbsp

Salt                              1 Tsp

Red Chilli                   1 Tsp

Red Chilli (Crushed)  ½ Tsp

Turmeric Powder        ¼ Tsp

Cumin Seed Powder   ½ Tsp

Garam Masala             1 Tsp

Fresh Coriander

Green Chillies             1-2

Method (For Chana Salan):

– Heat oil in a non-stick pan.

– Add onion and sauté until translucent.

– Add tomatoes and ginger-garlic paste. Stir-fry for 2 minutes.

– Add salt, red chilli (powder), red chilli (crushed)  turmeric powder, cumin seed powder and  garam masala. Mix well.

– Add boiled chickpeas and mix well.

– Add 200ml of water, while cooking on medium flame.

– Garnish with coriander and green chillies.

– Take out in the bowl to serve.

Ingredients (Puri):

Maida                          2½ Cup

Wheat Flour                ½ Cup

Salt                              ¼ Tsp

Baking Powder           ¼ Tsp

Yogurt                         2 Tbsp

Oil                               2 Tbsp

Method (Puri):

– Take Maida in a bowl.

– Add flour, salt, baking powder, yogurt and oil. Mix and knead well to prepare dough for puri.

– Apply oil on dough and slightly knead again.

– Take small portion of the dough and roll it, while applying oil to make a Puri.

– Heat oil in deep pan (or karahi) and put Puri in hot boiling oil.

– Take it out when done.

– Serve with Halwa, AlooTarkari and Chana Salan as a wholesome breakfast.
